behind the Camera

Hello! My name is Hana Isihara. I am based in New York City but may be home in the Boston area from time to time and willing to travel all over the Northeast. I specialize in seniors, couples, equine and sports. 

My goal is to capture moments. The big and the small milestones. Spur of the moment family photos to a high school graduation. The little one’s first soccer game or their big championship game. The first show with your horse may be just as memorable as your last show and I would be honored to capture the bond you have with your partner. Photographs and people are to be treasured and everything is worth being remembered.

I love being outdoors and working outside, which is where all of my sessions take place. I love being in out in the fresh air and surrounded by sunlight. If you don’t have a specific place in mind, don’t worry. We’ll find the perfect location.

I fell in love with photography as a kid and began to pursue my passion in high school. Starting with sports and diving into portraiture, I love it all. I also love animals, especially my cats and marine life, hence the turtle logo. (Check out the Three Seas tab under information for photos from my Marine Biology masters program)  I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given to be on this photography journey. I wouldn’t be the photographer I am today without my start at Thayer Academy, the CaPA Scholarship at Lafayette College and friends and family who have supported my along the way.
