behind the Camera

I’m Hana — a photographer, a mom, and someone who genuinely loves what I do.

I’ve always loved capturing both the action and the emotion around it. Sports are a big part of that for me. Games are fast, unpredictable, and full of moments you can’t recreate, and I love the energy of trying to catch them as they happen.

That same feeling carries into the rest of my work too.

I love the classic photos everyone wants, but I’m also always watching for what happens in between — the real laugh, the look between people, the kid who takes off running, the horse doing something unexpected, or the moment that would have been easy to miss.

And now that I’m a mom, I feel that even more.

Time moves fast, and somehow it moves even faster with a toddler. The little phases change before you realize they’re changing. The things that feel completely ordinary today have a way of becoming the things you wish you could go back and see again.

That’s a big part of how I photograph.

I want the photos you know you want, and the ones you didn’t know you needed until you see them.

I’ve been photographing sports, people, horses, and everything in between for years, and I still love getting to capture it.

Real smiles, unplanned moments.

My background is a slightly unusual mix of photography, sports, animals, and marine biology. If you’re curious, you can read more about my early photography work through CaPA and my time in Northeastern’s Three Seas program.
